Russia must target IS, not other groups in Syria: Hollande
PARIS: French President Francois Hollande said Thursday Russian air strikes in Syria should be targeting Islamic State jihadists and not other groups, as he prepares to hold talks with Vladimir Putin in Paris.
Hollande said with Russia now in its second day of bombing in Syria, it was essential to ensure that "the strikes, regardless of who is carrying them out, target Daesh (another term for Islamic State) and not other groups".
