DOHA: Atos an international information technology company and Worldwide IT Partner of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games yesterday launched its branch in Qatar.
Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Thani Al Thani, Chairmana Ezdan Holding; Theierry Breton, Chairman and CEO of Atos, together with Samir El Awadi, CEO of Atos Qatar, officially inaugurated the company at an event held at Ritz Charlton.
Atos Qatar aim to bring its global experience in the sports domain to the country especially partnering with the Olympic committee. Also Atos sees Qatar as a perfect base for business due to its vision in sports and growing economy.
“Being in Qatar is very important because of its fast growing environment. Hope we could be a partner in your vision,” said Breton speaking about their goals in Qatar.
“Our ambitions in Qatar are really high. That’s why ahead of wining business we have invested by further strengthening our leadership team in the Middle East.”
“Qatar will benefit from Atos, bringing its global experience in supporting Qatar’s vision to be the sports hub and centre of excellence of the Middle East. As a potential development we look for a partnership with the Qatar Olympic Committee in view of 2020 championship,” Breton explained.
By brining best IT practices Atos further aim support Qatari youth in enhancing their knowledge and education.
“We will support through IT education and knowledge transfer to Qatari youth to bring their best to the dynamic society,” said El Awadi in his opening remarks.
