Doha: Al Duhail coach Rui Faria expressed his disappointment with the draw result that the team achieved against Al Arabi team in the Round 2 match of the QNB Stars League but stressed that he was satisfied with his players performance.
“We performed a very good match, but the result was not on the same level of the performance and it was not fair, but we wasted many opportunities and there are some mistakes that appeared in the team’s performance but in general it was special and we deserved the victory against a team that we know its philosophy,” said the Portuguese tactician of Al Duhail.
“Although Al Arabi was playing defensive football we were able to find solutions and create opportunities and we had to score at least one third of the opportunities we had but we were not successful,” said Faria.
“The most important thing for every coach is making opportunities in the match and scoring goals, and wasting opportunities does not worry me and i will work on correcting the mistakes, and the team will return to score strongly in the upcoming matches,” he added.
“It is early to talk about wasting the league and about the back in the performance of the team or even the difficulties that face the team this season, we wasted two points but with the upcoming matches there are other clubs that will lost some points and the competition will not be easy, but now we are in the beginning of the season.”
