Damascus: Israeli forces carried out an incursion into the southern countryside of Quneitra in southern Syria on Sunday, establishing a temporary checkpoint and searching civilians and passing vehicles, according to Syria's state news agency (SANA).

According to SANA, the Israeli force, traveling in three military vehicles, established a temporary checkpoint along the Al-Hiran-Al-Rafid road in southern Quneitra countryside, where it searched civilians and passing vehicles.

The reported incursion followed similar operations on Saturday, when Israeli forces entered the village of Al-Ajraf in northern Quneitra countryside, established a temporary checkpoint, searched civilians, and installed a surveillance camera before removing it and withdrawing.

In a separate operation, another Israeli force reportedly entered the Wadi Al-Raqqad area in western Daraa countryside, set up a checkpoint on the bridge, searched a residential house, and later withdrew.

The latest incursion comes amid recurring Israeli military operations in southern Syria, which Damascus says violate the 1974 Disengagement Agreement. Syria has repeatedly called on the international community to press for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from its territory.
