Doha: The Executive Director of Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), Dr Ahmed K Elmagarmid, received the SIGMOD Contribution Award.
He was recognised for his dedicated service to the database research and development community in North America and Mideast, in his capacity as the founder and editor of the Distributed and Parallel Database journal, and Chair for the Association for Computing Machinery Special Interest Group on Management of Data.
The award honours significant contributions to database systems through research funding, education, and professional service.
