Ministry holds inspection at Central Market

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce conducted surprise inspection raids on the Central Market of fruits and vegetables in Abu Hamour, including auction yards and wholesale and retail shops. 

During the campaign, seven violations were seized by the inspectors, varying between missing price tags for products and failing to display product descriptions and ads in Arabic.

The ministry said it intensified inspection campaigns to ensure the compliance of suppliers (retail outlets) with law No. 8 of 2008 on consumer protection and cracks down on price manipulation and to protect consumer rights.

The Ministry confirmed its plan to conduct intensive and extensive daily inspection campaigns covering in all the regions and various sectors and commercial activities.

The Ministry urged consumers to report any violations or irregularities through its communication channels, via which it also receives complaints and suggestions.
