Doha: Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani has issued a decision to appoint Safar Mubarak Al Shafi as Assistant Undersecretary for General Services Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.
The decision was published on May 30, 2019 in the online bulletin of the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.
Safar Mubarak Al Shafi has obtained a Master’s Degree in Environmental Management from the United Kingdom. He has held several leading positions in the Ministry, including Director of the General Cleanliness Department, Director of Mechanical Equipment Department, Director of the Waste Management Center.
Al Shafi has also worked in many internal and external committees notably as Head of the Rainfall Emergency Committee and as a member of the National Committee on Climate Change.
During the tenure of Safar Mubarak Al Shafi as Director of the General Cleanliness Department, the general cleanliness services witnessed great development and a qualitative leap, taking Qatar to the rank of advanced countries in terms of hygiene and cleanliness.
