Paris--Europe's main markets closed lower on Tuesday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of top companies finishing down 0.36 percent at 6,928.27 points.
In the eurozone, the CAC 40 in Paris lost 0.41 percent to end the day at 5,004.46 points, and Frankfurt's DAX 30 dropped 0.94 percent to close at 11,328.80 points.
