DOHA: Indian Sports Centre, an apex body of Embassy of India organised ISC Sports Excellence Day 2018 at Giwana Hall of Radisson Blu hotel where various eminent Qatari and Indian sports personalities and organisations were awarded.
The top award, the Excellence in Sports Management Award 2018, was conferred to Hassan Al Thawadi, Secretary General of Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, due to his exemplary leadership in preparing Qatar for FIFA 2022 World Cup. As he was out of the country, Ali Al Mahmoud, Head of Sports & Culture, Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, has received the award on his behalf from Ambassador of India P Kumaran.
Sports Excellence Award 2018 was conferred on Nada Zeidan due to her numerous international achievements in archery, and being the first woman rally driver from GCC to compete in World Rally championship.
Mubarak Eid, the Board member of Qatar Volleyball Association and former captain of Qatar national team, received the Sports Excellence Award 2018 in volleyball. Mohammed Abdul Wahab, a promising Table

MES Indian School received Best Sports Organisation of the year award 2018 for their achievements in 2017. Sports Excellence Award 2018 in men category was awarded to Deon Britto due to his excellent achievements in cricket and Abdul Nasser P for setting the new bench marks in Qatar by participating in Paris, Kuwait Marathon, Ironman 70.3 Colombo 2018 and Mount Everest base camp . Misnad Kottarathil Muneer of MES Indian School received Sports Excellence Award 2018 in boys category for his achievements in athletics.
Sports Excellence Award 2018 in girls category was awarded to Aditri Vikrant Patil of American School Doha for her various achievements in Fencing.
Partnership Appreciation Awards were given to Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, Qatar Football Association, Qatar Cricket Association, Qatar Volleyball Association, Qatar Table Tennis Association, Qatar Swimming Association and Qatar Athletics Federation for their considerable contribution and support given to promote Sports and Games to the expatriate communities and partnering various tournaments with Indian Sports Centre during the last year .
