Ministry of Municipality concludes sixth Season of ‘Cultivate Your Homeland’ initiative

Doha: The Ministry of Municipality has concluded the 6th edition of the ‘Cultivate Your Home 2022’ initiative, which it organises in cooperation with the Al Faisal Without Borders Foundation and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, with the aim of raising the level of awareness among young students of all ages.

Minister of Municipality H E Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie stressed the importance of agriculture and afforestation and the use of school and home gardens to consolidate the culture of agriculture and care for plants and trees among young people and children, praising the good results achieved by the ‘Cultivate Your Home 2022’ initiative since its first launch in 2015, which clearly reflects the importance of participation community in national initiatives and programs.

He added that the cooperation between the public parks department at the Ministry of Municipality and the Al-Faisal Without Borders Foundation resulted in wide and varied participation of school students in the program, as well as the participation of students with special needs, whose participation was a distinguished addition to this initiative.

The Minister expressed his confidence that the idea of this initiative will continue in its next stages to include various sectors of education and civil society organisations, to be a major national project through which the ministry seek to spread the culture of agriculture and greening in the country, within the framework of the ministry’s keenness to provide a clean healthy environment free from pollution and diseases and within the procedures, rules and regulations that the Ministry of Municipality seeks to spread in order to preserve public health and safety.

He said that the keenness of the Ministry of Municipality, within its mission, to improve the quality of life, provide the best services and optimal planning to preserve the sustainability of natural resources for future generations, noting that this participatory program is an important opportunity to invest in the next generation and benefit from their national energies and capabilities in various fields.

He commended the role of Al Faisal Without Borders Foundation for its permanent cooperation with the Ministry, and for the success of this program, and for its health and awareness initiatives and efforts, congratulating the students who won the ‘Cultivate Your Country’ initiative and the educational and career cadre supervising the program, hoping to achieve its desired goals are for a clean healthy environment.

Chairman of the Board of Al Faisal Without Borders Foundation, H E Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani affirmed the Foundation’s support for all that is new in the educational and cultural field, pointing out that the “Cultivate Your Nation” initiative is the best evidence of the Foundation’s vision to enrich the educational process in the State of Qatar especially as it reinforces the importance of agriculture among students and encourages them to choose the right food.

He expressed his happiness with the success of this unique program, which has expanded within 35 Qatari schools of different grades and approximately 350 students participated in this year’s edition, praising the role of the Ministry of Municipality and public parks department for their full cooperation in implementing this wonderful initiative.
