Doha: The second edition of the Build Your House Exhibition 2021 (BYH 2021) has been rescheduled to June 7-9 at the Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC), organiser of the event NeXTfairs for Exhibitions & Conferences has said. The announcement comes in line with the recent decisions released by the Council of Ministers to re-impose some restrictions and precautionary measures to preserve the health and safety of the residents.

Rawad Sleem (pictured), General Manager of NeXTFairs for Exhibitions & Conferences, said: “Changing the date of the exhibition is a precautionary measure to deal with the latest developments of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to supporting the efforts aimed at protecting the society. Despite the strict preventive measures taken by NeXTFairs in cooperation with Boecker, the global leader in health, to ensure the health and safety of visitors and exhibitors, we still have to adapt to the rapidly changing world we live in.”

Sleem pointed out that the preventive measures to be applied at BYH 2021 Exhibition include regular and consistent disinfection of the halls, exhibition stands and all exhibits before bringing them into the exhibition halls in addition to the general supervision of other preventive measures and disinfecting the exhibition by a specialised team daily. This also includes ensuring thorough disinfection of areas that entail meeting and communicating with visitors, especially reception halls and other familiar places, while maintaining a safe distance between individuals of at least 2 metres, and conducting temperature checks on all employees, exhibitors, and visitors daily during the event. In cooperation with the Qatar Red Crescent Society and Qatar National Convention Center, an isolation area will also be made available for those who will show any of the symptoms; with staff immediately contacting the competent authorities.

Sleem added: “The exhibition will be closed from 2pm-3pm daily for disinfection. Visitors under the age of 18 will not be allowed in, and food and drinks inside the halls will be prevented. We will also provide visitors and exhibitors with a comprehensive guide to public safety measures, use social distancing wall and floor signs, and always remind them that face masks should be worn all the time, while also checking the green colour on Ehteraz App”.

Sleem explained that NeXTfairs is committed to making the exhibition an ideal model for all specialised shows that will be held in the future in Qatar, as it follows the world’s best-known standards and guidelines in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

He added that changing the date of the exhibition will also provide the participating companies even more time to study the market segmentation variables and adapt to the impact of the pandemic, whether in terms of products, services, or even marketing plans.

The BYH 2021 exhibition is being groomed to be a unique event, having attracted about 200 local and international companies under one roof; competing with each other to provide various products and advanced technologies in the fields of construction, architectural design, decoration, and contracting, in addition to the technologies of smart and green buildings.
