Doha: Workplace market trends reflect a progressive orientation in the Qatari market towards open plan office and co-working spaces which provide advanced smart technology features, where companies are increasingly favouring these solutions to heighten business development and reduce dependence on vast workplaces. These new tends have emerged in new cities such as Lusail, according to a new report by Ezdan on real estate market activity.
The open plan office is rapidly envisaged on a vast scale in global real estate studies, rendering prospects about the future of marketplaces and the likelihood of involvement of urban residents in adopting modern technologies and artificial intelligence, leading to the proliferation of SMEs dependent on shared digital work platforms and digital nomading to serve major corporations.
With regard to real estate sales value and volume; the market witnessed the settlement of 76 sales transactions from January 19-23, according to the Ministry of Justice’s Real Estate Registration Department, with a total value of more than QR336.1m, which was distributed over 7 municipalities including Umm Salal, Al Khor, Al Thakhira, Doha, Al Rayyan, Al Shamal, Al Daayen and Al Wakra, entailing vacant land lots, housing, multi-use buildings, multi-use space, and residential buildings.
Doha ranked first in terms of highest deal value, which comprised the sale of a residential building spreading over an area of 987sqm, at a price of QR1,412 per square foot, totaling QR15m.
Al Rayyan Municipality came next in deal value through the sale of a house in the Al Gharaffaa region, with a value of QR14m, on an area of 2,950sqm at a price of QR441 per square foot.
Meanwhile, none of the municipalities have witnessed a conclusion on any significant deals worth QR50m, which negatively affected real estate price index during the week.
Also Al Daayen municipality witnessed the lowest real estate deal in terms of value for a vacant land lot of 371sqm in Umm Qarn area at a price of QR275 per square foot, which reached only QR1.1m.
