At least 22 people were injured in a 5.5-magnitude earthquake that struck the county of Ninglang in southwest China's Yunnan Province on Sunday, local authorities said.

Chinese media reported that search and rescue teams were sent to the epicenter of the earthquake, which measured 5.5 on the Richter scale, and struck at a depth of 10 km.

At least two people were killed and three others injured after a 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck Luxian County of Luzhou City, southwest China's Sichuan Province last September of 2021.
