DOHA: A total of 50 Palestinian families received the keys of their newly reconstructed apartments worth QR8m in Al Dafer Tower in Gaza Strip.
In collaboration with the Palestinian ministry of Public works, Qatar Charity has rebuilt the tower that was destroyed during the war on Gaza in 2014, said a release.
This project is part of a series of reconstruction projects conducted by Qatar Charity in the Gaza Strip, including: the reconstruction of 400 housing units destroyed during the war, the furnishing of hundreds of units for the poor and needy families, as well as supporting other sectors such as health and education through in dozens of Relief and development projects.
Qatar Charity’s Director of the Palestine Bureau said “It is an absolute pleasure to announce the completion of works in Al Dafer Tower, as the project has been fully funded by Qatari support worth QR8m. We thank the Qatari government and people of Qatar for their continuous support for the Palestinian people and their cause”.
Haloub also emphasized on the important role that Qatar Charity plays for the betterment of the Palestinian society as part of its humanitarian mission to advocate the rights of those less privileged.
On behalf of the people of Gaza strip, Mr. Haloub expressed his joy to have seen Al Dafer Tower being reconstructed and taking its residents back.
Naji Sarhan, Minister of Public Works in Palestine, thanked the state of Qatar and its people for their continuous support to Palestine in various sectors, appreciating Qatar’s role in the reconstruction of Gaza strip and the improvement of its infrastructure.
Sarhan praised Qatar Charity’s efforts in sheltering those affected by war in Gaza strip, and its unwavering will to support construction projects in the region.
