Doha: Paulo Sergio scored a brilliant hat-trick as Al Arabi SC snatched a point from Lekhwiya with a 3-3 draw at the Qatar Stars League, yesterday at the Lekhwiya Stadium.
With his side trailing 3-1 till 83rd minute, the Brazilian striker scored back-to-back goals in the next two minutes to seal a 3-3 draw against the Michael Laudrup’s side. Chico Flores opened up scoring for Lekhwiya in the 15th minute before ‘Paulinho’ scored the first of his three goals to level, two minutes later.
Lekhwiya regained the lead in the 31st minute through Korean Nam Tae-hee and went into the breather with 2-1 lead. The defending champions looked set to take the winning points after Nam Tai completed his brace with a goal in 81st minute before ‘Paulinho’ shattered their hopes.
Meanwhile, El Jaish handed Al Shahaniya a 4-0 drubbing while the Al Shamal Stadium saw Al Gharafa edging out Al Shamal 3-2. Elsewhere, Ahmed Fathi Ahmed scored the decisive goal in 1-0 win for Umm Salal over Al Ahli. THE PENINSULA
