Jakarta: A moderate earthquake, measuring 5.5 on the Richter Scale, today hit Sumatra Island in Indonesia.
No casualties were reported from anywhere and the earthquake did not pose any tsunami threat as well.
Indonesia sits between the world's most active seismic region, the notorious Pacific Ring of Fire, which cause many earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
