Doha: Qatar Social and Cultural Centre for Blind held yesterday a cultural meeting in cooperation with Qatar Forum for Authors as part of the activities of the Book Club for the Blind.
The meeting discussed the first edition of Qatar and Sports by Ali Al Mahmoud, a paperback book that highlights Qatar’s most prominent sporting achievements, the documentation of the championships hosted by the Qatari sports federations and unions as well as photos documenting Qatar’s high-profile interest in sports.
This comes at a time when Qatar is preparing for the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 which is set to kick off on November 20.
The book stresses the positive role of sports in all aspects of life, most notably constituting peoples’ cultures and disregarding disputes.
