Ministerial decision regulates hunting season for birds, wild animals in Qatar

Doha: The Minister of Municipality and Environment HE Eng Abdulla bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie issued a ministerial decision on the regulation of the hunting season for certain birds and wild animals.

The decision stipulated that the hunting season for certain migratory birds will be from September 1, 2020 until May 1, 2021 only, provided that the Houbara bustard is hunted by falcons only. 

It is prohibited to use or exchange non-traditional hunting tools and means, especially Electronic Bird callers "Sawayat".

The season for hunting rabbits is from November 1, 2020 until December 15, 2021 only, provided that they are caught by falcons and hunting dogs only.

It is prohibited to hunt any other birds or wild animals. In particular hunting birds and endemic animals is prohibited throughout the year.
