DOHA: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani sent cable of greetings to King Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah of Malaysia and President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago Anthony Carmona on the occasion of their country’s National Day.
The Emir also sent a cable of greetings to Peresident of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev on the occasion of his country’s Independence Day.
The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani also sent similar cables to the leaders of Malaysia, Trinidad and Tobago and Kyrgyzstan.
DOHA: In partnership with the Qatar Museums Authority, the Doha Film Institute (DFI) continues its commitment to reflecting Qatar’s annual cultural partnerships with the DFI Brazil Cinema Showcase on September 25 and 26.
The initiative celebrates Qatar-Brazil 2014 with a monthly presentation of exceptional classic and contemporary films that highlight the rich diversity of Brazil’s cinematic history and bring audiences unforgettable works from internationally renowned directors.
Screenings to take place in the last weekend of each month at the MIA Auditorium.
The programme includes: The Boy at the Five by Marcelo Matos de Oliveira & Wallace Nogueira, The Mai Brothers by Thais Fujinaga, Sana by Marcos Pimentel, the Comforting Hand by Gabriela Amaral Almeida and To Sleep Quietly by Juliana Rojas.
