Doha, Qatar: Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) H E Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi received a phone call yesterday from Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden H E Tobias Billstrom.
During the phone call, the Secretary-General reiterated the State of Qatar’s stance and its condemnation of the repeated permission to attack the Holy Quran in Sweden, pointing out that allowing repeated attacks on the Holy Quran under the pretext of freedom of expression fuels hatred and violence, threatens the values of peaceful coexistence, and reveals distasteful double standards.
He also reiterated Qatar’s full support for the values of tolerance and coexistence, its keenness to establish the principles of international peace and security through dialogue and understanding, and its belief in freedom of expression, but at the same time, he stressed the need to respect religious beliefs and promote tolerance and understanding between different cultures and peoples.
