Woman drugged, raped in Agra

Agra: A 25-year-old woman was raped in Agra after an autorickshaw driver offered her a cup of tea suspected to be laced with a sedative, police said yesterday.

The woman was sexually assaulted on Saturday and rescued in the morning from Shastripuram in Sikandra area where she was found in a semi-conscious state, police said.

She was returning home from Jaipur in Rajasthan, police said. The woman, who went to Jaipur for work after, took the help of an autorickshaw driver to go to the Agra Water Works crossing from where she wanted to catch a bus to Shikohabad, police said.

On the way, the autorickshaw driver stopped at a road-side eatery for tea and also offered a cup of the brew to her, police said.

After she drank tea, she fell unconscious and gained consciousness yesterday morning and complained of sexual assault, police said.

 

Gurgaon Class 3 boy dodges abductors

Gurgaon: A Border Security Force (BSF) trooper’s minor boy, kidnapped by suspected cab drivers, escaped from captivity and returned home here within hours of the incident, police said yesterday.

Prince, a Class 3 student and son of BSF personnel Vinod Kumar, was kidnapped on Saturday from Bhondsi village, eight km from Gurgaon city, police said.

“He was kidnapped around 6am and he returned home around 9.30am on his own, after escaping from the window of a room where he was kept by the accused,” a police official said.

“The kidnappers made a ransom call to the boy’s parents demanding `5 lakh,” police said. The kidnapped boy was allegedly taken to a farmhouse near Sneh Vihar, a few kilometres away from his house.

The boy told his mother that a man who was keeping an eye on him at the farmhouse forgot to lock the window of the room in which he was kept and he escaped from there, police said. IANS
