Doha: Qatar Petroleum’s Industrial Cities Directorate, along with the Ras Laffan Emergency and Safety College (RLESC) and Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO), recently participated as part of the QP pavilion in the 9th Middle East Refining and Petrochemicals Exhibition (Petrotech 2014).
The event, which was held at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre, brought together petrochemical professionals, downstream and upstream suppliers, and major companies in the oil and gas sector. The three-day exhibition witnessed the participation of 130 companies specialised in refining products and services and representing over 20 countries.
Petrotech 2014 was inaugurated by His Excellency the Deputy Premier of Bahrain, Sheikh Ali Bin Khalifa, who toured the exhibitors’ stands, including QP’s pavilion.
He expressed his satisfaction for the strong participation of QP and its subsidiaries in the event, praising Qatar and Bahrain’s fraternal relationships as well as their fruitful cooperation in the oil sector.
He also highlighted the presence of the RLESC in the event and stressed its importance as a regional asset and of the need to increase awareness of the institution to the wider industry body and the public.
Petrotech 2014 offered insights on the latest trends and technological advancements in the industry as well as the current and future downstream investment opportunities in the GCC, as presented by a panel of government ministers and senior executives.
