Doha: Qatar is participating in the 58th International Al Quran Recitation and Memorisation Assembly in Malaysia, represented by Reciter Al Numan Imran Abdul Hamid, who is taking part in the category of ‘Memorisation and Recitation of the Holy Quran’.
The participation comes within the framework of the keenness of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs on permanent participation in international forums for Quranic competitions, especially this competition, which is one of the long standing events in the Islamic world.
Holy Quran reciters from 75 Islamic countries are participating in the current round which lasts eight days.
Qatar has been taking part in this competition and last year reciter Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Hamri won the first place.
