Hani Akkari completes 1 year as General Manager of Alwadi Hotel MGallery

Doha: General Manager of Alwadi Hotel MGallery, Hani Akkari (pictured), celebrated his first year as General Manager leading one of Qatar’s most luxurious and innovative boutique luxury hotels.“It has been a great honour to lead the talented team at Alwadi Hotel MGallery and deliver the most personalised and memorable experience for each and every one of our guests,” Akkari said on first year of his tenure.

Akkari leads Alwadi Hotel with more than 15 years’ of experience at some of the world’s most recognised luxury properties in Europe and Middle East. With more than a decade of experience with Accor, the operating company of Alwadi Hotel MGallery, and a wealth of experience in five star and luxury hotel management, Akkari has been the driving force behind the hotel earning its coveted third place in Qatar on TripAdvisor in 2020 out of 175 hotels in Qatar.

With his leadership, the hotel also won a host of accolades including, Booking.com’s Traveller Review Awards 2020; TripAdvisor’s 2020 Travelers’ Choice Awards and Corporate Travel Awards’ 2020 Luxury Boutique Hotel of the Year.

“The past year was a challenging one for the hospitality sector and the fact that Alwadi Hotel MGallery was able to cement its leading position in the competitive Doha market and win prestigious awards highlights the success of our strategy to adapt and build resilience,” said Akkari. 

“We managed to increase our business performance compared to the year 2019 – building on our popularity as a destination for staycations and weekend stays - and we can proudly say that we had no major redundancies and hired new team members during the pandemic and I am very proud of this,” he added.

Akkari said the hotel’s strategic location in Msheireb Downtown Doha and connected with Souq Waqif also made it a popular destination for dining. 

Akkari also worked hand-in-hand with Qatari authorities and his team to ensure the hotel provided a COVID-19 safe environment for guests and staff. Looking forward, Akkari said he was focused on continuing to create ‘Memorable Moments’ for his valued guests.
