Qatar Meteorology Department has forecast northwesterly wind expected to return affecting the country from tomorrow (March 2) until Thursday (March 5) due to the extension of high pressure over the region causing high waves and a drop in temperatures.
The minimum temperature is expected to go down up to 10C, the Department said in a press release issued yesterday.
The wind is likely to be in ranging in speed inshore between 12-22 kt gusting to 30 kt at places at times especially during daytime causing blowing dust and dusty conditions at times with poor visibility below 2km in some areas wheras wind gusts offshore expected to reach more than 30 kt causing high waves exceeding 10 ft at some places.
Northwesterly winds are accompanied by a decrease in temperatures especially during night hours and early morning with maximum temperatures ranging between 19 to 25 C and minimums between 10 to 17 C. Qatar Meteorology Department urges all to be cautious, avoid all marine activities.
