Doha: The second day of the annual festival of purebred Arabian camel racing on the sword of H H The Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, organised by the Camel Racing Committee, continues at the Al Shahaniya and Basir racing tracks within the competitions of 2021-2022 season until February 4 amid wide participation from camel owners in GCC countries.

The second day of the festival saw 45 rounds for the Bakkar symbols runs and the Qadan symbols runs for 4km, with 23 rounds in the morning period, and 22 rounds in the evening period. 

The competitions that were held on the Al Shahaniya track were exciting and strong in the morning period, where “Hafawa” owned by Mohammad Bakhit Al Maqarih won the title of the main race of the Bakkar and first place with a time of 6.06.04 minutes, while “Al Diriyah” owned by Sultan Mohammad Al Badi achieved second place with a time of 6.06.90 minutes, “Hawael” owned by Malik Fahd Ali Al Mohannadi won the third place with a time of 6.07.12 minutes.

As for the evening competitions to win six silver symbols, “Thiny” owned by Saeed Rashid Abdullah Qarah won the title of the first main round, and its silver Shalfa prize and one and a half million riyals, with a time of 5.53.82 minutes, while “Seiof” owned by Amer Rashid Al Baris achieved the second place and prize of 800,000 riyals, with a time of 5.55.86 minutes, and “Jobbara” owned by Ahmed Ali Al Sabousi won the third place and prize money 400 thousand riyals, with a time of 5.56.96 minutes.
