Doha: Hamad Medical Corporation announced the allocation of the Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital as a treatment facility for patients with Covid-19.
It further stated that coronavirus patients with moderate to severe symptoms will be admitted to Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital, where they will receive the necessary treatment to deal with those symptoms and will receive close medical monitoring.
“The decision to convert Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital into a facility to treat patients with Coronavirus (Covid-19) is part of the health care sector's proactive plan to ensure its ability to manage any potential increase in the number of patients who test positive for the virus in the coming weeks,” HMC said.
Hamad Medical Corporation noted that patients who are not infected with the Covid-19 virus and are currently admitted to Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital will be transferred to other facilities of the institution, in addition to suspending all outpatient services at Hazm Mebaireek Hospital temporarily until further notice.
The emergency department of Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital will remain open to treat emergency medical cases, which are transferred to the hospital through the ambulance service.
Hamad Medical Corporation have major hospitals dedicated to caring for Covid-19 patients, which are Communicable Disease Center, Cuban Hospital, Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital and Field Hospital.
