Doha: The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa), represented by the National Program for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed), in cooperation with the Japanese company Marubeni, has launched a smart platform for energy efficiency.

The initiative aims at supporting efforts of Tarsheed to reduce 5% of energy consumption in the residential sector. This platform comes within the framework of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two parties in April 2021 to launch a smart platform that activates a number of interactive electronic control panels to measure the customers’ behaviour about electricity consumption inside their homes.

The platform enables an individuals to fill out a questionnaire specifying the number of appliances consuming energy or water. It will help them in applying to develop a typical consumption plan for each housing category according to the number of inhabitants and other variables.

In addition, the platform will provide a smart plan according to the actual house consumption pattern to achieve the targeted reduction for each consumer.
As a commitment from Tarsheed to sustainability goals and in order to reduce harmful carbon emissions and conserve electricity resources, this programme helps all customers to know and compare their consumption, work on energy efficiency and save monthly bill.

The platform can be accessed via the link https://mytarsheed.com/, by entering electricity number in the username field. The link contains a user guide as well as an educational video material that guides the user step by step to clarify everything related to the platform in Arabic, as the application is currently available in English in its first phase and work is underway to launch its Arabic version soon.

In case of any inquiries, customers can contact [email protected] or via WhatsApp at: 77728600. Customers who use the platform can also collect a number of sustainability points, which they can exchange for incentives and benefits from specific points that Tarsheed will announce later in cooperation with a number of friendly institutions and Tarsheed partners. The SMS has been sent from Kahramaa to all its registered customers to activate the platform, accounting 157,000 messages for the residential sector. This platform comes within the framework of the efforts made by Kahramaa under Tarsheed programme to achieve environmental sustainability in accordance with Qatar National Vision 2030.
