Kuwait’s oil exports to China hit 6-month high

Beijing: Kuwait’s crude oil exports to China jumped 64.5 percent in September from a year earlier to a six-month high of 1.17 million tonnes, equivalent to around 285,000 barrels per day (bpd), latest government data showed.
Volume of Kuwaiti crude oil shipments to the world’s second-biggest energy consumer marked the highest level since March, when it hit 1.25 million tons about (295,000 bpd), according to the General Administration of Customs. China’s overall imports of crude oil last month grew 7.4 percent on the year to 27.58 million tonnes about (6.74 million bpd), according to Kuna.
Saudi Arabia remained country’s top supplier, but its shipments fell 2.7 percent to 1.16 million bpd, followed by Angola with 843,000 bpd, down 13.2%. Russia emerged third place, with imports from the country surging 56.7 percent to 695,000 bpd. Oman ranked fourth and Iraq fifth, respectively.
Aramex Q3 net profit rises 16pc
DUBAI: Dubai courier Aramex reported a 16 percent rise in third-quarter net profit yesterday, missing analyst forecasts.
Aramex made a quarterly net profit of Dh69.5m ($18.95m) in the three months to September 30, up from Dh59.9m in the corresponding period of 2013, it said in a statement.
Analysts polled by Reuters on average forecast Aramex’s third-quarter profit would be 74.8 million dirhams and up 25 percent year on year. Third-quarter revenue rose to Dh922m, up 12 percent year-on-year. “Revenues were once again particularly strong in international express and e-commerce,” Aramex chief executive Hussein Hachem said in the statement.Agencies
