Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to Qatar H E Heleni Michalopoulou said that relations between her country and the State of Qatar are witnessing a remarkable development in light of the efforts of the two countries to strengthen them in various fields and in line with the interests of the two friendly countries.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) the Ambassador said that bilateral relations between Greece and Qatar are being enhanced in various fields of common interest, noting that emphasis has been put recently on culture, justice, sports and tourism, through visits effectuated to Qatar at the Ministerial level and common action undertaken towards the promotion of common objectives.
Joint effort is also being made in other fields with a view to broadening the scope of bilateral cooperation through the exploration of possibilities for the two countries to fully exploit the existing potential, which is abundant on both sides, the Ambassador said.
“Greece is grateful for Qatar’s generous support provided in the struggle of Greek firefighting forces against the extensive wildfires of last August," she said.
