Amsterdam: Qatar, represented by student Abdullah Khalid Al Kaabi of Tariq Bin Ziyad Secondary School for Boys, won the bronze medal at the International Junior Science Olympiad in Amsterdam.

The State of Qatar participates in the competition for the first time with a delegation of students, headed by Fatima Al Rashed, the head of science division at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s Department of Educational Guidance.

The competition is the largest scientific event involving talented science students under the age of 16 in more than 50 countries around the world.

Qatar’s students participated in individual and group competitions through a series of theoretical and practical tests. They underwent training in concepts and scientific and practical skills last year and the training was intensified in November.
