Doha, Qatar: Amid the height of the tourism season, hundreds of tourists from different nationalities are visiting the pavilion of the Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center at the Old Doha Port.

Through this pavilion, the Center aims to introduce visitors to Qatar and its culture, while also providing an overview of its educational programmes.

These include visits to the Center’s headquarters, tours of the Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab Mosque, and public cultural sessions organised by the Center. All of these initiatives are designed to offer deeper insight into Qatari life, Qatar’s rich heritage, and Islamic culture. The pavilion was established through fruitful cooperation with the administration of the Old Doha Port.

This initiative comes as part of the Center’s commitment to cooperating with various state institutions in order to reach diverse segments of the public. The Center seeks to introduce non-Arabic-speaking audiences to Qatari culture and its rich heritage through direct interaction and by engaging with visitors in the places they frequent.

Hundreds of tourists visit the pavilion on a weekly basis, where they learn about the Center’s activities and about Qatari culture more broadly. The pavilion is strategically located near the tourists’ exit gate, where the Center’s team welcomes visitors, introduces them to the Center’s programmes, and provides them with books and informational materials.

A brochure outlining the Center’s activities has been made available, along with a selection of booklets covering various topics in multiple languages, making it easier for tourists to become acquainted with Qatari and Islamic culture.
