Doha: Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has opened its pavilion at Cultural Village Foundation - Katara, as part of its participation in the ongoing national events during FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021.

The Kahramaa pavilion receives visitors and fans from all over the Arab world attending the tournament in an interactive and enthusiastic atmosphere. The design of the pavilion includes an Arab Majlis and a tent featuring local traditional style that represents the values of generosity and hospitality that the ancient Qatari Arab culture is famous for.

The pavilion also includes many interesting and useful sports activities for youngsters, which combine the recreational and educational awareness aspects. Children learn about electric vehicles and their charging stations. They can play sports using energy-saving devices that do not require electricity.

The pavilion also includes a set of competitions and activities aimed at introducing electricity and water services in Qatar and spreading the culture of energy conservation among members of society.

In addition, interactive games related to football are also provided in light of Doha’s celebration of hosting the Arab World Cup, less than a year before the start of the largest sporting event in the history of the region, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

This participation comes within the framework of Kahramaa’s efforts to make Qatar a successful host of mega sporting events in fulfilment of its role and responsibilities as a national institution.

Kahramaa intensified its work related to hosting the tournament and the technical teams implemented plans and projects related to electrical works for FIFA World Cup stadiums and related facilities and buildings.

It is also working round the clock to follow up and monitor through the control room designated for the work of the tournament, according to the highest standards of reliability and accuracy to ensure the efficient conduct of electrical work during all days of the event.

President of Kahramaa Eng Essa bin Hilal Al Kuwari praised the efforts made by all the teams and employees of the institution to support the efforts of the State of Qatar to host the world championships. He stressed that the resounding success achieved so far in hosting the Arab Cup is a new confirmation of the readiness of the State of Qatar to host FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 next year.

Al Kuwari said that the technical work teams at Kahramaa benefited from hosting the Arab Cup in testing their plans, effectiveness and efficiency in order to determine the readiness of the electrical infrastructure supporting stadiums and related sports facilities. He said that the State of Qatar has proven to the world that it is up to the responsibility and fully prepared to organise an unforgettable World Cup. Kahramaa pavilion at Katara will open its doors until the conclusion of the championship activities on December 18, to also participate in the country’s annual celebrations on the occasion of the National Day of Qatar.
