After being held by Al Gharafa, Al Duhail coach Djamel Belmadi is desperately seeking a win in their Round 7 clash against Al Khor today.
“It’s important to achieve victory against Al Khor particularly since we dropped points for the first time after being held 1-1 by Al Gharafa,” Belmadi said ahead of the game at Al Khor Stadium.
“It’s also important because the QNB Stars League is going into a break for two weeks due to international commitments and we want to stay on top of the standings.”
“Everyone is working hard to get back on track by defeating Al Khor. These three points are also a must for us. Al Khor are a tough team at home, so the game won’t be easy. As I said at the beginning of this season, teams in the middle or bottom half can cause trouble for those on top.
“We’ve seen many such instances. That demands us to go into this match with full concentration,” he added.
Al Duhail player Ismail Mohamed echoed their Algerian coach’s feelings.
He said Al Duhail are looking forward to a good show for full points after they had to share points in the last round.
“The match against Al Khor assumes significance as it comes before the break. We weren’t in good form against Al Gharafa and lost two precious points. We’ll play to win,” said Ismail.
