Transport Minister meets with counterparts at ICAO Assembly

Montreal: Minister of Transport H E Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti met with his counterparts from several countries including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Seychelles and several African nations, on the sidelines of their participation in the 41st Session of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Assembly.

Al Sulaiti and the Minister of Transport and Logistic Services of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia H E Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al Jasser discussed aspects of Qatari-Saudi cooperation in transportation and civil aviation, and ways to develop them.

Qatar’s Ambassador to Canada H E Dr. Khalid bin Rashid Al Mansouri, Director of Department of International Organizations, MoFA, H E Ambassador Ali bin Khalfan Al Mansouri, and Mohamed Faleh Alhajri, who is in charge of managing the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA), attended the meeting.

Also Qatar and Seychelles have signed an air services agreement, which comes in the context of connecting Qatar with more air services agreements that open airspaces for the national carrier to fly to more destinations around the world. 

The agreement was signed by Al Sulaiti and his Seychelles counterpart, Minister of Transport H E Antony Derjacques. After the signing ceremony, the two ministers reviewed ways to develop Qatar-Seychelles relations in the fields of civil aviation and transportation services.

While, Al Sulaiti met with Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation H E Mohamed Abbas, on the sidelines of their participation in the 41st Session of the ICAO Assembly.

The minister held separate meetings with the Congo’s Minister of Transport and Channels of Communication H E  Chérubin Okende Senga, Angola’s Minister of Transport H E  Ricardo Viegas D’Abreu, and Sierra Leon’s Minister of Transport and Aviation H E Kabineh Moinama Kallon. 

Al Sulaiti held separate meetings with Togolese Road, Air and Rail Transport Minister H E Affoh Atcha Dédji, Nigerian Aviation Minister H E Hadi Sirka, and Tanzanian Minister of Works and Transport H E Prof Makame M Mbarawa.
