Miami: Roger Federer held off Nick Kyrgios 7-6 (11/9), 6-7 (9/11), 7-6 (7/5) on Friday to reach the Miami Masters final, where he'll face old foe Rafael Nadal.

Fifth-seeded Nadal, who has never lifted the Miami trophy, advanced with a 6-1, 7-5 victory over unseeded Italian Fabio Fognini.

Federer downed Nadal in an epic Australian Open final in January to claim an 18th Grand Slam title. He also swept past Nadal in the fourth round at Indian Wells on his way to the title there.
