Ankara: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani arrived Thursday evening in Ankara for a working visit to Turkey.

The Emir was welcomed on arrival at Esenboga International Airport by Turkish Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mehmet Simsek, Governor of Ankara Ercan Topaca and Qatar's Ambassador to Turkey Salem bin Mubarak Al Shafi in addition to senior officials and members of the Qatari Embassy.

The Emir will meet with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and will hold talk on bilateral relations and developments in the regional and international arenas, including the Gulf crisis.

Erdogan has been a major supporter of Doha since June 5, when Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and Egypt cut ties and blockaded Qatar.

On Friday, the Emir will hold talks in Berlin with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the prospects of cooperation between the two friendly countries and ways to develop them, in addition to the latest regional and international developments, primarily the Gulf crisis.

The Emir will also visit Paris, the French capital, where he will meet with President Emmanuel Macron to discuss with him ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two friendly countries, in addition to the Gulf crisis and issues of common concern.
