Lekhwiya a point away from title

Doha: Two-time champions Lekhwiya need just a draw against Umm Salal in their round 24 match of the Qatar Stars League here today to win title. Eric Gerets side,  leaders in the 14-team league, have 50 points from 23 matches.
Defending champions Al  Sadd is second with 41 points fromthe same number of matches. 
“Our absolute priority was to challenge for the tittle, in the beginning of the season I wasn’t so sure but since the New Year we are playing fantastic football. Now we are at the end of a long road and we want to finish it in style,” said Gerets on the prospect of his team  being crowned QSL champions.
In the other match today, Al Sadd take on Al Sailiya.
