DOHA: Qatar Stars League (QSL) defending champions Al Sadd yesterday were held to a goalless draw by Al Ahli but Al Khor thumped former champions Al Gharafa 3-0.
In the last match of the day, Spanish striker Sebastian Seaz struck twice as Al Wakra rallied from a goal down to shock Al Rayyan 2-1 in their round 15 clash.
For Al Rayyan, the only goal was scored by Abdullah Afifa in the 4th minute.
For second-placed Al Sadd, the match was an important fixture as a win yesterday could have allowed the defending champions to go past leaders Lekhwiya at the top of the points table. Eljaish are in third spot followed by Al Ahli.
For Al Khor, the heroes of the day yesterday were William de Lima Souza Jr (39), Madson (53) and Julio Cesar (63) as Al Gharafa were left without a point from the round 15 clash.
Today, Qatar SC host Muaither (4:15pm), Al Sailiyah play Al Arabi at Al Rayyan Staidum (4:15pm), Al Khuraitiyat battle former champions Lekhwiya at Al Khor Stadium (6:45pm) while Umm Salal have a date with Eljaish at Qatar SC Stadium (6:45pm). THE PENINSULA
