Lekhwiya set to face PSG in friendly today

DOHA: Qatar Stars League (QSL) champions Lekhwiya will face Paris Saint Germain (PSG) in a friendly match at Al Sadd Stadium today.

PSG, who are on a week-long training camp in Doha could include new signing Lucas Moura, who was officially unveilled yesterday at the Musuem of Islamic Art.

Later, the Brazilian joined his team-mates in yesterday’s evening training session at Aspire Academy.

Lekhwiya, who will be without the Qatar national team players due to the Gulf Cup competition that begins on Saturday, can count on former Villarreal striker Nilmar of Al Rayyan and Al Sadd’s Nadir Belhadj, after their respective clubs agreed that the two players could play for the QSL champions. 

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is among the squad members who are here in Doha and could play in the friendly match that begins at 5:30pm today. THE PENINSULA
