Al Feroz thrash Rawal County by 128 runs

Sri Lanka’s international cricketer, Dilhara Lokuhettige receives Man-of-the-Match award after helping Wings Doha to win in the Ramadan Tournament on Monday.   

DOHA:  Wings Doha and Al Feroz earned maximum points at the West End Park Ramadan Tournament after winning their respective matches on Monday, here at the West End Park Stadium. 

Doha Wings had Sri Lanka international Dilhara Lokuhettige in their ranks who put in a Man- of-the-Match performance to help seal victory. 

Chowdhary had won the toss and chose to bat posting 116 runs in the 20 overs. 

Taimoor (26 runs) & Talal (20) were the main contributors. Zaid and Khawaja scalped 2 wickets apiece for Wings to add to Lokuhettige’s lone wicket.

The second innings saw Wings take to the crease and reach a winning total of 117 runs in 19.1 overs to win a closely fought encounter. 

Lokuhettige scored 40 runs to add to the impressive Zaid’s 20 to give a launch-pad for success. 

The second match pitted Rawal County vs Al Feroz which ended in a comprehensive victory for the latter. 

Rawal County won the toss and elected to field giving their opponent’s the chance to compile 244/2 in 20 overs in a ruthless batting display. 

Man-of-the-Match M Boota thumped 124 runs with Faisal adding 106 of his own in a high-scoring partnership.

Rawal County, in reply fell short with a final score of 116 runs ‘all out’ in 15.3 overs to give Al Feroz a 128-run victory. 

Naeem hit 48 runs while Rizwan 29 made for County. 

Al Feroz’s Mujeeb and Nadeem claimed 3 wickets apiece for the winner’s in a convincing performance.
