T20: Allround Saman steers Galfar to Challenge Cup last 8

Galfar CC’s all-rounder Saman receiving the Man-of-the-Match award after helping his team in 26-run win over Al Noof CC at the West End Park Stadium in Doha on Tuesday.

DOHA: All-rounder Saman continued his fine form to inspire Galfar CC to an impressive 26-run victory over  Al Noof CC in a Challenge Cup Twenty20 match at the West End Park Stadium in Doha on Tuesday night. 
Saman hit a quickfire 37 to help his side compiled a total of 167-8 in stipulated overs.    
Prasanna was the other main scorer with a handy knock of 30 runs. 
Defending the target, Galfar CC restricted their opponents to 141-9, thanks to a good bowling show by Sama and Narayan. 
The duo took a brace each to secure victory for their team. 
From Al Noof CC, Hassan and Nasir were the main scorers. The former contributed 33 runs while the latter chipped in with 22 runs. 
The victory ensured Galfar CC a place in the quarter-final of the tournament. 
A naturally delighted Saman paid tribute to the work ethic of his tea-mmates: “The team is showing a combined effort,” said the all-rounder. 
“The secret of our success is to work hard, play our best and take it one game at a time. We look forward  to the remainder of this wonderful competition and will challenge ourselves to be competitive in every game we compete in,” he added. West End Park Stadium will be hosting the Challenge Cup until its conclusion on Saturday 5. 
Sixteen teams from the Qatar Cricket Association B & C Divisions are participating the inaugural  tournament. 
The Ramadan event will start from July 6.THE PENINSULA
