Dominant PSG crush Lekhwiya in friendly

DOHA: Paris Saint Germain (PSG) beat Qatar Stars League champions Lekhwiya 5-1 in a friendly match at Al Sadd Stadium yesterday.

In a match that attracted a huge crowd, Ezequiel Levazzi gave PSG the lead in the 17th minute.

With Eric Gerets back on the sidelines after taking a break due to illness, Lekhwiya levelled the match at 1-1 thanks to former Villarreal striker Nilmar in the 20th minute.

PSG took the lead shortly before half-time when Levazzi added his second in the 39th minute,

The French club, managed by Carlo Ancelotti, continued to dominate and were soon 3-1 up when Kevin Gameiro put the ball in the net in the 57th minute. 

Five minutes later, Nene, who has been linked with a move away from PSG, made it 4-1.

French international Jeremy Menez made it 5-1 seven minutes later, in which new PSG recruit Lucas Moura made its debut following his move from Brazil’s Sao Paulo. THE PENINSULA
