Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee members and the US delegation during their meeting.
DOHA: The Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee met senior staff from the US Senate, House of Representatives and Departments of State and Homeland Security.
Hassan Al Thawadi, Secretary General; Yasir Al Jamal, Technical Director; Hamoud Al Subaey, Senior Adviser to the Secretary General; Fahad Al Rumaihi, Protocol Manager; Mahmoud Qutub, Strategy and Development Senior Adviser; Dr Sakis Batsilas, International Sport Adviser and Andrew Longmate, Legal Counsel briefed the delegation on Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee’s three-year strategy, legacy goals and ongoing developments.
The embassy of Qatar in Washington DC, represented by Ahmed bin Yousef Al Rumaihi, Deputy Chief of Mission; Ali bin Saad Al Hajri, First Secretary and Abdulla Al Mohannadi, Third Secretary, is leading the Americans on their visit.
The delegation, headed by Albert Sanders, Legislative Counsel to Senator Dick Durbin of Indiana and the Senate Judiciary Committee, includes Jennice Fuentes, Chief of Staff for Congressman Luis Gutierrez of Chicago; Christina Mulka, Deputy Communications Director for Senator Dick Durbin and Scott Schiller, Legislative Director for Congressmen Billy Long of Missouri.
The committee and the US embassy in Qatar will lead a joint mission to the US next month to tour sporting venues, visit infrastructure projects and research innovative, sustainable energy technologies.
