Hundreds of kids take part in Quran contest

Quran competition winners with officials.

Doha: Malarvadi (the flower garden), Indian Islamic Association’s children’s wing recently conducted the final round of the Quran competitions.

Hundreds of children from the age group of 7 to 13 participated in the preliminary rounds of the competition, which were held under 18 Malarvadi units in different parts of Qatar.

The second stage zonal competitions were held at Hilal, Doha, Wakra, Ain Khalid, Al Khor and Rayyan and final round was held at Indian the Islamic Association hall.

In final round there were 36 competitors represented by 6 zones.

The winners are as follows in the order of first, second and third places:

Quran Recitation Senior Category: Jasseem Mohamed (Mamoura), Ridwa Qassim (Bin Omran), Aymen Mohamed Haneef (Al Saad), Junior Category: Fadiya M A (Mamoura), Habeeba Hidayathulla (Mesaed), Nabeel Abdul Salam (Hilal), Quiz  Competition winners: Abdulla Fahimi (Hilal), Sameeha Junaid (Ain Khalid), Asma (Umm Ghuwailina).    

Prizes were distributed by Hamad Medical Corporation’s Paediatric Consultant Dr Hussama Al Gibali. Competition followed by a mass Iftar attended by competitors and their parents.
