Saturday, 21 July 2012

DOHA: At least six people suffered from sun stroke and reported to the emergency unit of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) for treatment yesterday.

The emergency unit provided them instant medical care. These six cases were among an estimated 225 people who visited the emergency unit with different complaints yesterday which was the first day of the fasting month of Ramadan.

Among them, at least 103 people complained of stomach upsets, while 25 others reported problems like the inflammation of intestines.

There were at least nine accidents of different kinds reported during the day while 82 people approached the emergency unit of HMC with other health-related problems.

However, these were the cases that were reported to the emergency unit after the first Suhoor yesterday.

Medical sources were expecting more stomach upset and related ailments to be reported to the emergency unit after Iftar (when Muslims break their fast in the evening).
