Canadian agency to develop tribal regions

Tuesday, 19 February 2013

ISLAMABAD: The Canadian Border Security Agency (CBSA) is likely to develop tribal regions on both sides of the Pakistan-Afghan border, upgrading entry posts and monitoring the movement along the border after withdrawal of coalition forces from Afghanistan next year.

An official said a nine-member CBSA team, led by Canadian High Commissioner Randolph Mank, would meet Pakistani officials this week to assess investment required. They will also look into work to generate economic activities as part of global efforts to reduce security threat.
