GCC set to waive customs duties on goods for people with special needs

DOHA: The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is looking forward to introduce exemption of customs duties on goods carried by people with special needs for their personal use, the Arabic newspaper Eqtisaadiya reported yesterday, quoting a source in the Customs Department in Oman. A proposal has been made to incorporate amendments to Article No 25 of Customs Law. The proposal was raised during a recent meeting of GCC customs authorities.
