Qatar Exchange hits another peak

DOHA: Qatar Exchange (QE) benchmark index broke its historical peak in intra-day trade yesterday. The bourse closed at 13,906 points, up 0.29 percent, retreating from just below the high of 13,950.
QNB and Industries Qatar were the main support, gaining 1.01 percent and 1.05 percent, respectively. Other contributors included Ooredoo, up 2.68 percent and Widam, which rose 1.15 percent.
Market cap rose to QR738bn from QR735bn. Traded value plunged to QR734m from the previous session’s QR960m. Four sector indices fell, while Telecom rose by 1.81 percent. Traded volume slipped to 13m shares from 16m. Of the traded 41 companies, 18 advanced, 18 stocks declined and five remained unchanged.
