DOHA: Hundreds of families attended the opening of Eid Al Fitr celebrations at Souq Waqif yesterday.
Many enjoyed watching the circus show at Al Rayyan Theatre, while others trooped to the Entertainment Tent in which dozens of games for children of all ages and other entertainment activities are available.
Featuring a team of acrobats and magicians from Ukraine, the Circus show delighted the audience with entertaining acts by clowns, magicians and jugglers as well as thrilling performances by monocyclists, Russian bar performers and other acrobats.
Among other acts adults and children enjoyed at the circus was a show by trained cats and dogs, displaying  amazing tricks.
The show will be presented twice for the next four days. The first starts at 5pm and the other at 8pm. Tickets are priced at QR50 for general admission and QR100 for VIP seating.
The tent on Al Ahmad field in front of Gold Souq also provides bouncy castles, maze, hoppers, moving train, balloon sculpture and face painting. Entry fee is QR20. Twenty-five redemption games can be found inside the tent where children can play and win prizes. People can also have their pictures taken at a photo booth complete with props with Souq Waqif as the backdrop.
A candy man entertains visitors at the tent, showcasing skills in sculpting candies into shapes such as flowers, birds and animals.
Visitors also took photos with stilt walkers wearing colourful costumes roaming around the tent. The tent is open until Saturday from 4pm to 10pm.
Activities at Souq Waqif are  part of ‘Eid in Qatar’ events organised under Qatar Tourism Authority.
